Are digitals included?
Digitals are included in all packages with the exception of the CLASSIC portrait package. The classic package includes Shelby's time taking portraits, editing, and presenting. We will sit down within about a week to proof your gallery, and at that time you will select favorites and order print and digital products. Packages start at $500, but most clients do invest a minimum of $1000 toward their portraits. $150 of the classic portrait package fee is applied to your product order.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am currrently located in Elgin, IL which is a suburb of Chicago. I do travel twice a year to the Nashville, TN area and am available for travel outside of these areas as well! Please reach out if you want to chat more about this.
When will we get our photos?
The answer to this question depends solely on which package you select. If you choose the digital experience, you can expect a gallery link within two weeks. For in person proofing and ordering, we will meet within about a week to ten days to select favorites. If a digital package is selected at that time, you'll leave the proofing appointment with digitals in hand! If you select a print only package, you can expect to receive your order within 2-4 weeks, depending on the products ordered.
How many pictures are in the final gallery?
For family portraits, typically you'll have around 50-80 to choose from. Sometimes, if multiple children are involved, we'll have more! Senior galleries typically are around 150 images because they involve multiple locations and outfits.
How many outfits do we bring?
I always say 'as many as you'd like!' but honestly, you really should stick to around 4 for seniors/kids or 2 for families with multiple children. Factoring in "changing time" is necessary, so the more times you change, the less time we have for photo opportunities!
How many locations?
This depends on the session! For families and children typically we stay at the same place. I try to find a location that has a couple of different "looks" so we don't have to drive anywhere. For teens and seniors, we can be a little more flexible because they are more quick at changing clothes, and we can pile in the car quickly and get to point A / B. Some clients choose to do a location per outfit change!
